I get a little frightened when ever I hear a Christian make a pitch for political office. don’t get me wrong, I am a believer. I see historically that Christianity has proven herself a tyrant. I think that the New Testament was pretty clear about not getting involved in the worlds affairs, that includes politics. The separation of church and state means that what the founders established here is a secular nation. Roger Williams wanted freedom of conscience in his colony that would allow for men to grope for God and perhaps even find him (Acts 17:26) Williams created a view of government that was clearly espoused by Jefferson and Madison, we would do well to leave it at “God given common sense” rather than Christianizing what we should have under the constitution.

Britt - clearly religion-based? Please … there are two paragraphs explaining what the problem with Mitt Romney is.

If you choose to believe that it’s just because he’s a Mormon, then I suppose you’ll believe that I won’t vote for Obama because he’s African-American or Clinton because she’s a woman, right?

I’m worried that God will give us who we deserve, rather than who “is right,” that God will allow us to continue to slip down into moral degradation, rather than help us rise again to moral respectability. That’s why I’m so concerned about this election.

The media will definitely work against Huckabee from here on out–at least ’til Feb. 5th.

I’m just hoping that Huckabee doesn’t let McCain and Romney dominate the debate tonight. I wouldn’t be surprised if CNN tries to let them do that.

Hey Wickle! Yeah, I couldn’t listen to either Rush or Sean today. They’re getting what they deserve, however, because of what they deliberately did to Huckabee coming out of Iowa. I do hold out some hope with the Super Tuesday states. Huckabee didn’t spend a great deal of money in Florida, so I’m hoping that the campaign coffers have enough in them to give him some advertising ability in the states most likely to give him wins or at least a share of delegates. If Romney and McCain continue to battle each other, Huckabee could pull of an upset somehow. That’s my hope. A lot of commentators have been alleging that Huckabee is going to be a contender for a VP slot on a McCain ticket. I don’t know how I feel about that. If McCain loses the general election it could to his VP candidate what happened to John Edwards on the Dem side…basically put him out of contention in the next election cycle. What do you think?

Great win for McCain. I agree with you Joe that this will crown McCain as the nominee. What a comeback! I give him a better chance against Hillary than you do. For some reason I think Obama would be an interesting match up for him.

I’m going to miss Rudy. He was probably my favorite going up against the Dems in Nov.

Not sure I understand your continued hatred of Romney. It’s clearly religious based which I think is ridiculous. Didn’t you say you had a rumor that was so vicious he’d be out by South Carolina?

I haven’t done the math on the delegates, but I haven’t given up hope yet.

I do know that it’s a tough row to hoe, though. We’ll see what happens.

While I’m no fan of John McCain as a President, I do think that it’s interesting to listen to the radio talkers today.

I couldn’t make myself listen to Limbaugh, but I did listen to Glenn Beck whining, and the opening monologue of Sean Hannity’s show was pretty sad.
